Our story

Built for the child who learns by doing

Canvas & Climb was born from a simple belief: children thrive when they're trusted to explore, create, and move at their own pace.

Why we built this studio

We started Canvas & Climb because we kept seeing the same thing — bright, curious kids who were bored in traditional settings, or anxious in large classrooms, or simply needed more space to be themselves.

So we built something different. A boutique studio where every session is small by design, every activity is hands-on by intention, and every child is met exactly where they are.

We blend Montessori principles with art, movement, and science to create an environment where learning feels like play — and play is taken seriously.

What we believe

Child-led learning

We follow the child's curiosity. Our instructors observe, guide, and step back — letting each child set the pace and direction of their own discovery.

Small by design

Private and semi-private sessions (max 6 students) mean every child gets real attention, real feedback, and real connection with their instructor.

Whole-child approach

Art builds fine motor skills and emotional expression. Climbing builds confidence and problem-solving. Montessori builds independence. Together, they build a child.

Safe to struggle

We create a space where it's okay to try, fail, and try again. Mistakes are part of the process — and we celebrate them.

The Montessori thread

A philosophy woven through everything

Maria Montessori believed that children are natural learners — intrinsically motivated, deeply observant, and capable of remarkable focus when given the right environment. We carry that belief into every program we offer. Whether a child is mixing colors, scaling a climbing wall, or working through a math concept with wooden beads, the Montessori thread is always present: prepared environment, uninterrupted work time, and deep respect for the child's process.

1

Prepared environment

Every space is intentionally arranged to invite exploration and independence.

2

Uninterrupted work cycles

Our 150-minute Montessori Pod sessions honor the child's natural concentration cycle.

3

Concrete to abstract

Hands-on materials come before pencil and paper — always.

4

Intrinsic motivation

We don't use sticker charts or gold stars. The work itself is the reward.

The people behind the studio

Small team. Big hearts. Deep expertise.
